Customs Clearance

Understanding the customs clearance process helps you plan your shipments effectively. When goods arrive at Ngurah Rai Airport or Benoa Port, the process follows a structured pathway managed by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC).

First, all required documents must be prepared and submitted electronically through Indonesia’s CEISA system. These documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, insurance certificate, and any special permits required under LARTAS regulations. Second, Indonesian customs assigns a clearance channel based on risk assessment. The Green Channel means goods are released immediately after duty payment. The Yellow Channel requires document verification. The Red Channel involves both document verification and physical inspection.
